Astegal of House of Sarkal was a general of Carthage and Sidonie de la Courcel's first husband. With his kinsman Bodeshmun, he and others plotted to ensorcel Terre d'Ange into believing that Aragonia had provoked war with Carthage and that Astegal and Sidonie were in love. He employed Amazigh as bodyguards for Sidonie.
He was killed in Aragonia by Imriel de la Courcel and Sidonie after his attempt to kidnap Sidonie failed and Imriel defeated him at sword fighting.
