Balm House is one of the thirteen houses of the Court of Night-Blooming Flowers.
Its canon is healing, and Balm adepts are trained to soothe their patrons' hurts. They are skilled in massage and other healing techniques. Adepts are often master masseurs. They believe that Naamah went to the King of Persis in compassion, to heal the pain in his soul.[2]
General Information
Phèdre nó Delaunay de Montrève chooses Balm House for Imriel nó Montrève de la Courcel's first trip to the Night Court in Kushiel's Scion. The Dowayne Nathalie nó Balm selects an adept, Emmeline nó Balm, who will help heal the wounds left by Daršanga. During the assignation, Emmeline addresses Imriel's fears and reassures him that what they are doing is sacred and not something to be feared.
The house itself is low and sprawling. The reception hall is divided into smaller sections with decorated screens. It is furnished with couches, potted plants and a fountain.
