Breidaia mab Necthana is the oldest sister of Drustan. By the time of Kushiel's Scion, she has two children: Talorcan and Dorelei. Because of the Alban laws of inheritance, as the Cruarch's sister, her son Talorcan will be Drustan's heir and her daughter Dorelei was to be the mother of the next Cruarch. After Dorelei's death, Breidaia fosters Alais de la Courcel, allowing Alais to be the mother of the next Cruarch.
