Cassiel's Servant is a novel by Jacqueline Carey retelling Kushiel's Dart from the perspective of Joscelin Verreuil, Phèdre nó Delaunay's warrior-priest companion. It was published on August 1, 2023.
It was announced by publisher Tor Books and Carey on April 17, 2018[2] Carey later revealed that the novel was scheduled to be published in fall 2020,[3] but the tentative 2020 release date was postponed in February 2020.[4] Following additional delays, the book was scheduled for a summer 2023 release,[5] and was published on August 1, 2023.[1]
While all previous Kushiel's Legacy novels were parts of trilogies, Cassiel's Servant is currently only a standalone novel and Carey has stated she has not yet decided if she will retell the entirety of Phèdre's Trilogy from Joscelin's perspective in the same manner.[6]
