"Earth Begotten: The Journey of Blessed Elua" is a short story by Jacqueline Carey that serves as a prequel to the Kushiel's Legacy series and provides additional details on the origins of Blessed Elua and his Companions. The story also gives new explanation of the true Terre d'Ange that lies beyond, the afterlife in the series. It was published by Havilah Press in a limited run of 50 handmade copies in April 2003. Although the physical edition is extremely rare, the full text of the story is available on Carey's website.
