Foclaidha was the wife of the Cruarch of Alba and mother to multiple large and strong sons, including Maelcon. She worked with Maelcon to overthrow the traditional matrilineal rule in Alba and murder her husband, giving him the throne and usurping it from the rightful heir, Maelcon's cousin Drustan mab Necthana. She also plotted with Lyonette de Trevalion to overthrow Lyonette's brother, King Ganelon de la Courcel and install her son, Baudoin de Trevalion as King of Terre d'Ange.
