Jacinthe was an apprentice Servant of Naamah, who was raised in Cereus House while Phèdre nó Delaunay de Montrève was being fostered there. Jacinthe was a pale boy with dark blue eyes that were almost but not quite too dark for the canon of Cereus House. He served joie at Cereus House's Midwinter Masque on the Longest Night alongside Phèdre and other apprentices when they were children. When Prince of the Blood Baudoin de Trevalion gave Phèdre a kiss for luck at that Midwinter Masque and her tray was crushed between them and dropped, Jacinthe was upset at the mess and shot her hateful glances afterwards.
