L'Agnace is one of the seven provinces of Terre d'Ange. It is located in the south central part of the country, not far from the southern coastline. It was founded by Anael, who taught the people animal husbandry and farming. L'Agnacites are characterized by their love of the land.[2] The City of Elua, the capital of Terre d'Ange, is located in L'Agnace.
Geography[]
L'Agnace is very fertile, and is primarily an agricultural region. The climate there is mild and temperate. The City of Elua lies in the southern part of the province. The Aviline River runs through the city before emptying into the ocean. Many noble families from outside the province, such as the L'Envers and the Shahrizai, maintain estates and hunting lodges outside the City. Imriel's estate of Heuzé is located in L'Agnace, as is Lombelon which he cedes to Maslin.
L'Agnace is landlocked. It is bordered to the south by Eisande, to the southwest by Siovale, to the northwest by Kusheth, to the north by Namarre, and to the east by Camlach and Caerdicca Unitas.
Noble Houses[]
Prior to Kushiel's Chosen, the ruling house of L'Agnace was Chalasse. In gratitude for House Somerville's service during the Skaldi invasion, Ysandre grants them the status of ruling house. It is unknown if this remained in place after Percy de Somerville's treason and Ghislain de Somerville's disowning of his family.
Another L'Agnacite house is Bretel.
