Orchis House is one of the thirteen houses of the Night Court.

Its canon is humor, and Orchis adepts approach Naamah's Service with joy, laughter and gaiety. They learn how to make patrons laugh and are known for their lighthearted demeanor. They say that Naamah slept with the King of Persis for a lark.[2]

General Information Edit

Orchis House chose an aquatic theme for the Midwinter Masque at Cereus House. Adepts were dressed as mermaids and other sea creatures.

Mierette nó Orchis was an Orchis adept who set up her own salon after making her marque. She was present at Alcuin nó Delaunay's debut auction in Kushiel's Dart, and bid for him, though she did not win. Later, Cecilie Laveau-Perrin gave Alcuin to her as a birthday gift, dressed in nothing but red ribbons. Though Alcuin despised his calling as a Servant of Naamah, he for once returned from his assignation smiling and content. Mierette bestowed upon him the gift of finding joy in Naamah's worship that was the canon of Orchis House.

In Kushiel's Chosen, a group of noblemen took Severio Stregazza to Orchis for a night of merryment.
