Robert Tielhard was a Master Marquist, considered one of the most talented in the City of Elua. He was hired by Anafiel Delaunay to complete the Marques for both Phèdre nó Delaunay and Alcuin nó Delaunay. Their designs are his creation. Originally, he had an apprentice who worked in the marquist shop with him and was enamored with Phèdre. Later, when Phèdre returned to the City of Elua after being enslaved among the Skaldi she learns that the apprentice passed away of an illness, and Robert Tielhard never took on another.
Robert regularly mentioned his Grandpere, also a Master Marquist, commenting on how it was to work with/on anguissettes, complaining of how they squirm, and how they are "worse than the cryers." After working on the Marque of Phèdre, an anguissette herself, he agreed with his Grandpere's sentiments. After Tielhard's death, the Marquists' Guild voted that it would be a crime to duplicate his design for Phèdre's marque for any but an anguissette.
