Thérèse de la Courcel Stregazza was the daughter of Prince Benedicte de la Courcel and Maria Stregazza de la Courcel. She had one sister, Marie-Celeste de la Courcel Stregazza. As the niece of King Ganelon de la Courcel and a member of House Courcel, Thérèse was considered a Princess of the Blood. She was married to Dominic Stregazza, one of her Stregazza cousins. Fearing the Stregazza family's dwindling influence in Terre d'Ange, she and her Serenissiman husband Dominic arranged for the assassination of Isabel L'Envers, the wife of Prince Rolande de la Courcel. After her involvement on Isabel L'Envers' murder, Thérèse's father wanted her imprisoned at the harsh island prison of La Dolorosa, but she was imprisoned elsewhere.
